Tomáš Šebek has been working for almost 20 years as a general & visceral surgeon consultant. In 2004 he founded eCME (electronic Continuing Medical Education) medical agency MeDitorial and later a virtual hospital and unique telemedicine project called uLekare.cz. He went on several surgery missions with Doctor without Borders (MSF): 2010 & 2012 in Haiti, 2013 & 2015 in Afghanistan, 2017 in South Sudan, and 2019 in Yemen. Tomas is a MSF/MSF SITS board member, ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) instructor within the America College of Surgeons, and a digital health evangelist.
Tomáš utilizes his medical and digital skills, knowledge and experience to develop both Health and e-Health systems that push the boundaries of conservative view and improve daily lives & health of people & patients. He is a proud member of a wide network of experts from around the world. Working in an international humanitarian environment helps him to be more open-minded and see complexity as whole.
Anna Fučíková studied biophysics and chemical physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University (MFF UK). Since 2006, she has been working at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences and since 2014 she has been an assistant professor at MFF UK. She teaches nanotechnology courses at MFF UK and is popularizing science for adults and children. From 2012 to 2014, she completed an internship at the Institute of Technology at KTH University in Stockholm. Her scientific work has received several awards, including Czech Head Doctorandus 2012 and Grant Neuron Impuls 2015.
Jan Romportl is Director of Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Chief Data Scientist at O2 Czech Republic. He has Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, master’s degree in cybernetics and control engineering, and another master’s degree in philosophy. Before joining O2 in 2015, Jan had 12 years of academic research and teaching experience in AI, man-machine interaction, speech technologies and philosophy. He was Department Head of Man-Machine Interaction at New Technologies Research Centre, University of West Bohemia, and a senior researcher at the Department of Cybernetics. He’s currently a member of the Department of Philosophy at the same university. Jan cooperates with Centre for Theoretical Study of Charles University and with Czech Effective Altruism Group. He organises Prague AI Safety Meetups, and he tries to be helpful to the Czech AI Safety and Alignment community.
Andrew Warrington is a patient, health hacker, and member of the #WeAreNotWaiting open source diabetes care movement. He is a contributor to the AndroidAPS artificial pancreas system. In his day job, he works at the Novartis.
Zbyšek Pavelek, MD, Ph.D., is a neurologist who currently practices at the Department of Neurology, Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital Hradec Králové. He is a fellow of the Czech Neurological Society and a member of several Czech Neurological Society sections. Zbyšek Pavelek is an MS Certified Specialist. He has published various articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Pavelek is involved in a variety of multiple sclerosis research projects, including treatment and biomarkers.
Klára Novotná is a physiotherapist in the Multiple Sclerosis Center Department of Neurology, First Faculty of Medicine and General University Hospital. Her field of interests are gait and balance disorders in multiple sclerosis and motivation for physical activity. She is a member of the international organization RIMS (Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis) and actively cooperates with Czech patient organizations.
Barbora works as a Digital Lead for Novartis Innovative Medicines. She enjoys bringing innovation into the pharmaceutical industry by connecting real needs with powerful solutions. She is very passionate about agile ways of working, simplification, process optimization, and she is a big foodie.
Zuzana Valesová is a physiotherapist. She has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for 17 years. In the field of multiple sclerosis, Zuzana worked as a Key Manager for MS Centers for two years, and now she holds a marketing position in the Neuroscience team. In her leisure time, she is interested in sports and beekeeping.
Cristian works as a Business Franchise Head Neuroscience for Novartis Innovative Medicines. MBA, Biologist and Oenologist, he is a professional with more than 16 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry and mass market healthcare nutrition, during this period he has been developing different roles as Brand manager, Sales Manager, Strategic Project Manager and Business Franchise Head. Cristian also has experience in start-up development, when in 2008 he creates his own company, and also in leadership and development of innovative solutions in healthcare.
